JJB Sports Irish Cup fifth round draw

THE fifth round draw of the JJB Sports Irish Cup was made today on stage at The Baby Grand.

The fifth round is the stage at which all 12 Carling Premiership clubs join the competition, however the draw only produced one all Premiership tie.

Holders Crusaders will face Bangor at Seaview, whilst last year's runners-up Cliftonville have a tough trip to play Lisburn Distillery at New Grosvenor Stadium. All matches will be played on Saturday 16 January 2010.

Almost 100 guests attended the draw of one of the most prestigious football competitions in Northern Ireland. JJB Sports were represented by Belfast Manager William Ewart, with the draw being made by International Manager Nigel Worthington and IFA President and Chairman of the Challenge Cup Committee, Raymond Kennedy.

The draw is as follows:

  • Ballyclare Comrades v. Islandmagee
  • Ballymena United v. Ards
  • Carrick Rangers v. Portadown
  • Coagh United v. Tobermore United
  • Crusaders v. Bangor
  • Donegal Celtic v. Linfield
  • Dundela v. Coleraine
  • Dungannon Swifts v. Malachians
  • Glebe Rangers v. Ballinamallard United
  • Glentoran v. Sport & Leisure Swifts or Omagh United
  • HW Welders v. Glenavon
  • Institute v. Ballymoney United
  • Lisburn Distillery v. Cliftonville
  • Loughgall v. Ards Rangers
  • Newry City v. Larne
  • Nortel v. Bryansburn Rangers

All matches will be played on Saturday 16 January 2010.

*Sport & Leisure v Omagh United play their 4th Round tie on Saturday (19 December).
