Earning the 'man of the match' award Baker struck seven minutes from the end of the first half to settle the Villagers' nerves after their Amateur League visitors had almost taken an early lead when an effort was cleared off the line.

And Baker eased Loughgall's passage into the next phase with number two on 72 minutes before, with six minutes remaining, Brian Adair added a third.

Niall Currie's side face more Amateur League opposition in the form of Rosario YC in next week's fourth round.

Also securing their place in the last 16 were Ballyclare Comrades who travelled to Clandeboye Park to put three without reply past Bangor while Larne defeated Glebe Rangers 4-1 at Inver Park.

However, Ballinamallard United made their exit following a compelling visit to Midgeley Park which saw the sides share 10 goals before Linfield Swifts emerged victorious on penalties.

Top scorers on the day were Ards Rangers with their 7-2 thumping of Tandragee Rovers while Dergview hit six past Tobermore United in the all Championship 2 battle at Darragh Park.
