Dergview 0-4 Donegal Celtic
IFA Championship - Saturday, 2nd August, 2008
DONEGAL Celtic kicked off their IFA Championship campaign with this comprehensive defeat of last seasons Carnegie Second Division kingpins Dergview.

Celtic led at the interval thanks to a 36th minute Ciaran Gargan strike at the left post after Paul McVeigh had nodded down a Tony Heagney ball.

McVeigh then made it 2-0 from the spot after 67 minutes when he was brought down by 'keeper James O'Reilly as he burst into the area.

It was 3-0 on 80 minutes through Daniel Lyons with Heagney once again the supplier before McVeigh grabbed his second of the game right at the end when he beat the offside trap to round off a comfortable afternoon for Paddy Kelly's side.
