He opened the scoring after just five minutes when he applied the finishing touch to a Marc Whitla effort after he had been played through by Franco Trainor.

And Whitla was thwarted again on 14 minutes when he struck the woodwork with the goal at his mercy but within two minutes the visitors levelled through Warren Smith after a clearance had ricocheted off defender Mark Quinn.

Killymoon then stunned Banbridge by taking the lead on 25 minutes through Patrick McElhatton who fired into the corner of the net.

Whitla hit the woodwork for a second time five minutes from the break but, within ten minutes of the restart, Town equalised when Irwin finished off a move which involved Whitla, Trainor and Paul Evans.

The winner came with a quarter-of-an-hour remaining courtesy of a Steve Magennis finish from a Dale Malone corner.
