Dungannon Swifts 1-0 Donegal Celtic
Promotion/Relegation play-off - Friday, 8th May, 2009
A TIMMY Adamson goal just before the half-hour mark was enough to earn Dungannon Swifts an away goals victory over Donegal Celtic in this promotion/relegation play-off.

He struck on 29 minutes with a low finish beyond Celtic 'keeper Declan Brown after Marc McCann had collected the ball from Ryan McIlmoyle to tee up the chance.

Moments prior to that Brown did well to deny a McIlmoyle effort while, on 52 minutes, Rodney McAree went close before, in the final quarter of the game, Celtic upped the ante although the end product was somewhat lacking.

The best they could muster was a Paul McDonald effort after he worked the ball into a dangerous position in the Swifts penalty area just before it was cleared while Tony Heagney hit the ball just wide from close range.
