Banbridge Town 1-1 Larne
Ladbrokes.com Championship 1 - Saturday, 8th August, 2009
A LATE Matt McCartan strike earned Banbridge Town a point from this Ladbrokes.com Championship clash at Crystal Park.

The youngster struck on 84 minutes with a fiercely delivered volley which gave Larne 'keeper Ryan Brown little chance to deny the visitors the victory they probably deserved.

Paul Millar's side were the dominant force in the first half with Damien McLaughlin somehow missing an open goal, Jamie Marsh having a volley saved and Liam Carland looking on as an effort was cleared off the line.

But they eventually found a way through 19 minutes from time through summer signing Davy Larmour who outsprinted Town 'keeper David Wilton to an Anto Lagan clearance before slotting the ball home from an acute angle.

However, Larne were reduced to ten men not long after after Ryan McLoughlin was adjudged to have fouled McCartan in a challenge for the ball.

And, as if to rub salt into their wounds, the aforementioned McCartan popped up within minutes to snatch what looked like a certain win away.
