Wakehurst 1-1 Lurgan Celtic
IFA Interim Intermediate League - Saturday, 9th August, 2008
LURGAN Celtic grabbed a late equaliser to salvage a point from this opening Interim League clash with ten-man Wakehurst at The Showgrounds.

Rodney Crawford's side moved in front on 35 minutes when Stephen McIlroy played a great ball into the path of Conor Warren and he made no mistake drilling the ball past the helpless Celtic 'keeper.

However, they suffered the dismissal of Ally McIlroy inside the first five minutes of the second half and, spurred on by this, the visitors stepped up a gear almost levelling on the hour through Raymond Fitzpatrick long range drive which struck an upright.

But after a period of sustained pressure Celtic's breakthrough came with ten minutes remaining when a Niall Lavery free-kick some 25 yards from goal beat both the wall and the 'keeper.
