On 23 minutes Coagh thought they had broken the deadlock when Jamie Gardiner took the ball past two defenders to beat Trevor Morrison only for the assistant referee to rule the goal out offside.

What proved to be the winner arrived on 28 minutes when Chris Crilly arrived at the back post to nod the ball past Johnny Pollock following some excellent approach play from Matthew Holden, Grant Hutchinson and Darren Higginbotham.

Moments later Higginbotham had a great chance to double the home lead when he was brought down in the area by Mark McMenemy only to see his subsequent spot-kick well saved by Pollock.

Coagh had the ball in the net again a couple of minutes later only for Stuart Dallas' 25-yard drive to again fall foul of the officials.

After the break Dallas was thwarted once more when a goal bound effort was cleared off the line while an earlier Gary Baird header was tipped just over.

And Coagh's luck didn't change as the game wore to a close with Willie Ferguson seeing a shot skim the woodwork.
