They came close to snatching the advantage after just three minutes when Kevin Braniff found himself one-on-one with Marc Robinson only to put the ball just wide to the right of the 'keeper.

They did move in front, though, on 34 minutes through John Convery when he touched the ball home from eight yards after Wesley Boyle had knocked on a Gary McCutcheon corner.

It was 2-0 four minutes later when David McCullough gave Robinson no chance with a strong drive while Alan Teggart added a third on 42 minutes with a shot to Robinson's right.

Andy Hunter then made it 4-0 a minute short of the hour mark when he met a McCutcheon corner with a strong header from barely six yards.

And it was 5-0 with 15 minutes remaining when Braniff combined with McCutcheon for the latter to send a 30-yard shot past Robinson into the top corner.
