Crusaders 5-1 Bangor
JJB Sports Irish Cup - Saturday, 16th January, 2010
CRUSADERS kicked their defence of the JJB Sports Irish Cup off in style with a commanding defeat of Bangor at Seaview.

The cup holders raced into the lead after just three minutes when first Jordan Owens got his head to a Donnelly delivery before, a couple of minutes later Donnelly himself dispatched a free-kick from outside the area into the bottom right hand corner.

And Donnelly might have added a third on 21 minutes only for his goalbound effort to be stopped on the line by Bangor 'keeper Gareth Maguire.

But Donnelly did grab his second of the game on 33 minutes with a far post finish after a Gareth McKeown throw in was flicked on by Michael Collins.

Mark Dickson made the most of poor defending to make it 4-0 on 52 minutes before Andrew Rosbotham pulled one back for the visitors from distance on 71 minutes.

However, Ross Arthurs completed the rout with 12 minutes left as the Seasiders struggled to deal with another Donnelly cross to ensure safe passage for the defending champions.
