Donegal Celtic 3-2 Coagh United
IFA Championship - Tuesday, 16th September, 2008
LEADERS Coagh United fell to their first defeat since the opening day of the campaign with this reversal to Donegal Celtic.

Paul McVeigh got the ball rolling for Celtic after nine minutes when he turned home a Daniel Hanna free-kick only for Coagh to level on 18 minutes when Jamie Gardiner sent Declan Brown the wrong way after he was brought down in the area.

Celtic regained the advantage, however, on 28 minutes when Daniel Lyons exploited a gap in the Coagh defence to fire the ball past Johnny Pollock.

But once again Coagh levelled when, two minutes from the break, Gardiner slotted home his second penalty of the night, again sending Brown the wrong way.

However, it was Celtic who had the last laugh with Ciaran Gargin's 73rd minute winner, a rifling drive into the top corner although Johnny Porter almost snatched a point for Coagh late in the game with a goalbound header which rattled off the Celtic crossbar.
