Coagh's sluggish start could have cost them early on as Carrick piled on the pressure but Randal Reid calmed the visitors nerves on 23 minutes when he latched onto a Steven Park deflected effort and calmly stroked the ball home.

This lifted Coagh and their pressure from the restart paid off on 33 minutes when Park headed home a Gary Baird corner.

Baird put the tie out of Carrick's reach seven minutes into the second half when he nicked the ball off Willie Loughran to rattle in Coagh's third.
