The Villagers created the first decent chance of the game on 26 minutes when Davy Hawthorne made space down the right flank only for his well delivered cross to be blocked at the near post.

Tobermore came close themselves soon after through Ian Crockett who fired just wide after leaving his marker trailing while Paul Burnside had a goal bound effort deflected just wide.

Hawthorne threatened again on 50 minutes from a Marty Lavery cross following swiftly by a Ryan Moffatt cross which was well saved by Kyle Hassan.

But perhaps the best chance of the game arrived on 58 minutes when a Brian Adair shot fell for Andy Brown but he failed to trouble Hassan despite being well placed.

Loughgall continued to press with Moffatt forcing Hassan into another stop with nine minutes remaining.

However, five minutes later they were reduced to ten men when substitute Glen Clarke was dismissed by referee Raymond Crangle for foul play - just three minutes after coming on!
